Step 3: Connecting Google Search Console to WordPress

Now that you have Yoast SEO installed, you need to add your website to Google Search Console. You can do this by clicking on the buttonAdd property in your Google Search Console account.

In the website field, you need to add the full URL of the website. It is important that you use the same URL that you see in your browser's URL bar, including WWW or not www, as well as HTTPS.

Your main sitemap file is sitemap_index.xml and it contains links to all of the other sitemaps on your site. You just need to submit that main sitemap link, and Google will automatically crawl all other sitemaps on your website.

Once you have completed these steps, you can visit your account on the Google Search Console to verify your listings. After Google crawls and indexes your website, you start to see reports in Search Console.
